Stakeholder consultation on an exemption request from the substance restrictions in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS Directive)


Update: This stakeholder consultation had been extended and ran until 11.04.2014. The consulation is now closed.

This stakeholder consultation ran for ten weeks from 20.12.2013 to 28.02.2014 and covered a single exemption request:

Exemption request 2013-6  “Lead and hexavalent chromium in reused spare parts, recovered from industrial monitoring and control instruments placed on the global market before 22 July 2017 and used in category 9 equipment placed on the market before July 22 2024, provided that use and reuse takes place in auditable closed-loop business-to-business return systems, and that the reuse of parts is notified to the consumer.”

Results of the consultation and next steps

Further exchange with stakeholders will be held after the consultation has ended for those issues where further need for information and / or need for (technical) discussion has been identified.
